Officer Responsibilities in Error Control
Description: Ethics, liability prevention & risk management. This two-day program will identify and discuss major areas of concern in law enforcement liability prevention and risk management. Specific recommendations for problem solving will be illustrated. Use of force, arrest/custody issues, entry into private premises, vehicle operations, failure to protect, workplace behaviors and ethics issues will be addressed, among other concerns. Tactics and practices to preserve public trust, prevent liability, and protect officers and departments will be our focus.
- Dates: April 9 & 10, 2025
- Times: 0830-1630 each day (Lunch will be provided)
- Location: York County Regional Police Department, 33 Oak Street, York, PA 17402
- Cost: $150.00 per person for officers from Central Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Assoc. agencies. $250.00 per person for officers from outside agencies.

Description: The West Earl Township Police Department is hosting the Basic Field Training Officer course by NAFTO in July, 2025. This nationally recognized, 24-hour training is ideal for patrol officers, detention staff, communications personnel, and support services entering Field Training Units. The curriculum incorporates best practices from multiple field training models, including San Jose, Reno, and Modified San Jose, and focuses on:
- Adult Learning & Generational Leadership
- Standardized Evaluations & Liability Considerations
- Ethics, Equal Opportunity Employment, & Civil Liability
- Officer Safety & Career Survival for the FTO
- Effective Teaching Strategies & Trainee Retention Techniques
The class includes interactive discussions, group exercises, and real-world scenarios to enhance learning and practical application.

FBI Leadership Certification Program – FBINAA: August 11-22, 2025
Description: The Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department is hosting the FBINAA Leadership Certification Program in August, 2025. This unique opportunity allows attendees to obtain all 3 portions of the program at one time. Classes include: Meeting the Leadership Challenges of Law Enforcement, Mastering the Leadership Challenges of Law Enforcement, and Leadership Tactics and Strategies for Tumultuous Times.

Northwestern School of Police Staff & Command September 15 – November 21, 2025
Join the Northern York County Regional Police Department for an exceptional learning opportunity in collaboration with the Northwestern | Center for Public Safety. The course Command Series Level 1: Developing First-Line Supervisors, is designed to enhance skills and knowledge for law enforcement professionals.
Scheduled from September 15 through November 21, 2025, this ten-week course prepares experienced law enforcement professionals for success in senior positions. The training will take place at the Northern York County Regional Police Department, 1 Regional Way, York, PA from 0800 to 1600 daily Monday through Friday, at a cost of $4,900 per person.
